You could setup port mapping on your proxy/firewall to forward the jabber ports to the internal address.

Subject: [JDEV] Assigning Dual IP address to a jabber server...
Hello all,
I want to set up a Jabber server such that people within a LAN environment can access the Jabber server using a local IP address. However, people who are mobile should be able to access the same jabber server from the Internet using the Internet IP address and at the same time chat with people sitting in the LAN environment.
Further, people sitting within the LAN would not be able to access the server using the Internet IP address because of proxy restrictions.
Is such a set up possible. If yes, how? I am in serious need of such a setup.
Awaiting kind response.
Regards,
Ritu
