| One could simply provide a Form which creates Configfiles. It would be
| cool if a Standard perl Script would be in the Dist of jabberd which

Not even necessary. Just let would-be users know that they register
through the client.

| I usually use screen (not having jabberd in the Default Startup, though.)

I need to learn how to use it. Especially the "suspend and connect
from another machine" feature. I want jabberd to start at boot,
though.

| Sounds like the typical libpthread Problem.

Ack. Is there a known workaround or fix?

| Personally, under Windows i prefer PSI. Its not as feature-blown as
| other Jabber Clients, but it does its Job and is small and nifty ;^)
| For the colorloving Users, there is Rival Messenger, maybe even Exodus,
| which has a bit new UI (tho can run in classical WinJab Look).

Thanks for these tips. I tried a few out, and Exodus looks quite
ideal :-). I especially like the installation method -- unzip this
file where you want and run the app. If the router at home weren't so
dead I could install it remotely, hehe, (except for the shortcuts in
convenient locations).
