[JDEV] Jabber Palm

I am looking for people/experiences/pointers on the use of Jabber Palm 
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/jabberpalm). I have used the 
pre-compiled .prc file on my Handspring Visor with an Omnisky modem and 
a Xircom wifi card, but with limited success. I can authenticate, and 
send, but cannot receive messages. At least, if the messages come it, 
they are not displayed.

I downloaded the source, and started cleaning it up to make it 
compatible with Palm3.5 instead of Palm3.1 (which is what the source was 
written for). I have been able to "upgrade" the libraries used by the 
jabber client to Palm3.5, but I have run into a few problems with 
datatypes, etc. I was hoping to draw on the list's experience.

Anybody?
