[JDEV] SMS Transport

Is anyone working on an SMS transport?  Though GSM isn't too popular in
the US, it's widespread throughout the rest of the world ... and I think
it was CNN that reported that over 2 billion SMS were sent in Europe in
2000 ... For those who aren't aware, SMS is Short Message Service I
think for sending text messages between cell phones.
 
There are several web-based gateways for sending free SMS messages and
even ICQ supports it now, too ... (and I'm currently in Jordan where I
use it quite frequently from ICQ.)
