I've patched xdb_file.c to fit our needs and use Openldap2 for authentication but it's very rudimentar and specific work. There is xdb_ldap project at http://xdbldap.tigris.org/ but it seemed to stop at jabber1.0 and I'm not sure if it's still in development. I'm quite sure the version available on the site won't work with 1.4.
Celso.
