[JDEV] LDAP backend

Hi guys,
        I wonder if you can tell me if theres a known timeline (or
anyone
working on) the LDAP backend for jabberd. i would love to run a server
for our users and all their information is currently in LDAP. I mailed
the xdb_ldap maintainer but he said:

> it only works with jabberd 1.0. Jabber.com is making the ldap
> module part of their commercial release.

        So is there any chance of an LDAP backend soon or is noone now
working
in this area?
