Thanks for the advice.  I have the problem solved for myself, so this
isn't exactly my concern.  Not everyone is running RedHat using the
RPMs, though, so the value is for people making their own init.d/rc
scripts.  Thus, I think the daemon mode suggestion still has merit.
It's strictly a "nice to have", though.

Perhaps worthy of a FAQ inclusion, then.
