I really wish you guys would use automake.

test for SSL fails; should be
	if [ $WANT_SSL = 1 ]; then
not
	if [ $WANT_SSL == 1 ]; then
                       ^^

--libdir is not a valid option to pth-config v1.0.3, which I happen to
have installed, not realizing it was so old.  You should probably check
the version with --version.

Can't wait to try this out!
