[JDEV] base_connect death

Hey to all,
   I've managed to successfully set up a service which jabber can connect to
with base_connect and succesfully relay messages. Upon termination of the
service, jabber manages to run without a hitch, but upon restarting the
service, when jabber tries to reconnect a second time, it segfaults. Has
anyone seen this problem before and is it easily resolved?
