The whole presence thing has also been rumbling around in my grey butter
churner, and I think I've found a path that wins us both worlds :)

With only some minor changes to the <status/> stuff we can turn it into a
world-class presence system that would solve all of Jabber's needs as well
as what we saw at the Summit and from the IETF.  AND, not only do these
minor changes help in that way, but they actually streamline the status
stuff and make it more understandable!

I have some of it written up, but I'll add a lot more and contribute the
new presence stuff in the next 2 days to:

Exciting stuff, and it actually makes some of the 0.7 work easier instead
of harder, (so supporting it will not slow down 0.7's arrival, *g*).
