The session protocol was not documented in the proposed JEP.
I've added lings to developers documentation of sm-c2s and resolver
protocols to the http://jabberd2.xiaoka.com/wiki/ComponentProtocol page.

To my knowledge, there is no other server using this.
But there are some components that utilise it.

You may have both. Even on same port. They are easily detectable. :-)
