Yes, the Iris xmpptest is definitely nicer for testing than the Psi XML
console, if only because it will check your XML input before sending so the
server doesn't kick you. :) Someday these facilities should be unified.
Regarding commandline testing, Iris has another tool called 'conntest', which
first performs an XMPP login and then acts like telnet from that point on.
It should be possible to pipe a file into it, although I've never tried.
