Thanks, but I might not be the best person for commenting on PSI's
XML-console as I doubt that it was written for someone in my position,
but rather as a tool to (primarily) just view the XML exchanged from
the more normal use of PSI.

I'm probably looking for something with more interaction (like
xmpptest) or something commandline that can read XML-input on stdin or
from a file.

Good idea. Sorry I didn't do this before asking.

In my defence I could mention that when I started working with
Jabber/XMPP jabberstudio.org was unavailable, and remained so for the
next month or so before I simply gave up all hope about ever using
anything from there and put it out of my mind.
