I think the tiny server approach has still more advantages. It would be 
extremely cool to use the py*transports (PyMSNt, PyAIMt,..) on localhost by 
using a small XMPP server in Python for example. In this way Jabber clients 
can start competing with multi-protocol clients like GAIM, Kopete,... (as the 
same features will become possible) and more folks will join the Jabber 
community.
