[/me goes to txt attachements, manually opens the annoying PGP message in
notepad, cut&pastes Andrews texting into the reply, and then manually addes

Hmm...can you tell me if Outlook Express doing HTML sends HTML only or
ASCII+HTML? I always assumed both, but now that I mentioned it I'm not
sure. I'm sure at some stage I'm going to hit reply forgetting to switch
back to text mode, and Peter will kick me off the list, but until then...
Either way, not a lot of Spam gets though onto the list that I've noticed
(although I'm now subscribed to a billion penis/breast enlargement spammers
thanks to the fact that ages ago this list got archived to the web with full
email addresses, ripe for the harvesting) so I doubt the .gif problem is
going to be a big one. If you are worried about it you can preview your
mail with Mailwasher or the like. I'm sure mailman must have some sort of
filter. I'm of the opinion that it comes down to the old "real men don't
use fancy-dancy HTML formatting" - "ASCII was good enough for my
grandpappy..." type snobbery.
Michael.
