[JDEV] About XDB and user xml file

Hi all,

 I searched the topic about "xdb_ldap".
 http://support.jabber.com/troubleshooting/know_base/multiple_db.html
 
 It says that ldap handles authentication, registration, and vCard information.
 The xml file handles off-line message, iq:last, roster, and the iq:private.
 
 Does the description mentioned above mean that user still have xml file in /spool 
 even though use xdb?
 
 Is there any method(component) to handle user information through DB completely?
 Any pointer will be helpful!!
