Bart - my name is Jonathan Hirshon and I am the webmaster for a Jewish
Temple in Silicon Valley <http://www.templesanjhose.org>. We are
currently using a lot of cutting-edge technology on our site (for
obvious reasons, living in the valley) - streaming A/V, 3D, etc. We
currently use phpbb 2.0.3 (we need to upgrade to 2.0.6, I know!) and I
really want to integrate Jabber IM into our site - ideally, IM tied to
our MySQL database of forum users at http://forums.templesanjose.org.

I've been seriously considering jumping to Invision, as I found a hack
that adds Jabber support to that product
<http://forum.glue.g-blog.net/index.php?act=ST&f=14&t=340&s=8141d18cf59e1added3a55a62b69be98>.
I'd prefer to stick with phpbb, but I really need/want that Jabber
functioinality. They also support an IM client that ties to the forum
database, but it's PC only and I need Mac support for my users, so I'm
really torn here!

Is there any way you can help us install Jabber (we're on a Debian Sarge
box, dual P-III, 512 MB memory) and that mod for phpbb onto our site (we
currently use the Zeus webserver - they were a former client of mine and
I got a free license!). If so, I will be ETERNALLY grateful - any and
all help would be seriously appreciated! :)

many thanks in advance for any help you can offer and looking forward to
hearing back from you - JH
