[JDEV] How to develop a Jabber application in web?

Hi:

I am a new Jabber developer.  Another team got the Jabber
working in our
personal computers.  Now we want to take the client Jabber piece
into
web.  I am seeking ideas of how to approach this task and have
some
questions.

Q1:  Could some person tell me where those jdev digests were archived?
Q2:  Are there some useful web sites which could help me develop web
Jabber application?
Q3:  We are thinking to develop Jabber application in web using Perl or
Java.  Which language will do the job better and why?
Q4:  How do a person like me who is totally new to Jabber get familiar
with it?
