[JDEV] Problem using jabberd server

Hi

I have followed the "jabberd howto"
http://jabberd.jabberstudio.org/howto.html.

I did not get any problem during compilation.  But I got the following
when I tried to use a Jabber client to connect to that jabberd server,
which was on the same machine:

[root]# ./jabberd

jsm at update.jabber.org/1.4.2 from localhost: Server Connect Timeout
20020328T16:26:26: [notice] (sanjuan.eecs.umich.edu): bouncing a routed
packet to 1000 at sanjuan.eecs.umich.edu/1000 from 14 at c2s/81395E0: Internal
Delivery Error
20020328T16:26:26: [alert] (s2s): We were told by update.jabber.org that
our sending name localhost is invalid, either something went wrong on
their end, we tried using that name improperly, or dns does not resolve to
us


Can somebody tell me what might have gone wrong please?
