[JDEV] coccinella problems

Abe , in all likelyhood the error is a improperly formed JID ( not JIB ). A JID is the address that jabber uses to locate users and resources.  JID's should be written as username at jabberdomain.com , like an email address, where jabberdomain.com is the address of the server where the user's account is located. The first thing I'd check is that the JID's I'd entered into coccinella are correct.
