Flash components sounds like what we're after.  They shouldn't have any 
visual aspect to them at runtime... just logical.
Would they work in both 5 and 6?

Ah.. right.  That might be cool too, but isn't on the top of our list.

I'm probably thinking LGPL or JOSL, but we'd be open to alternates.
