  I've now chosen the JaJc client, as fitting the bill for the Windows people,
 and Gabber for the Linux folk.  JaJc doesn't have the source available, but
 it's small and simple and it installs correctly over a Samba share, so it
 will be easy to upgrade in place.

  Thanks - I'd found that and applied it already, along with the handy
 startup script.
