[JDEV] jadc2s on solaris 8

Thanks. That cleared up the linux side. On Solaris, however, I can only
run it with the -b option, without it I'm given the usage statement. It
doesn't appear to be segfaulting, there's no core. But the process seems
to quietly die and nothing is written to the log.
