I believe there's functionality in jabberd 1.4.2 that enables you to
redirect presence info out to a JID or external component. It was in a
post from Jeremie and those are few and far between, so it shouldn't be
that hard to find in the archives. :) I'll hunt around here and see if I
can find it.
