[JDEV] Configuration parsing using jabber.xml failed

I'm a newbie with Jabber so this may be a really stupid question. I
looked in the archives and didn't see anything close to my problem.

I'm trying to set up a Jabber server on FreeBSD 4.3-BETA. I've
installed it from the ports collection, and modified the jabber.xml as
described in the howto. I also created a directory in
/var/spool/jabber called jabber.class.com as specified in the howto. I
made sure that the jabber user can write to this directory as
specified. But when I try and start jabber with:

/usr/local/bin/jabberd -h jabber.class.com, it errors on me with 
Configuration parsing using jabber.xml failed

If anyone has any ideas of where I should try and start looking, I'd
be grateful...
