I hate to disagree but that's missinformation. I find Gabber an Excellent Linux Jabber client, up to date and well supported.

Gnome and GTK are available for Windows already. How dificult is to port Gabber for such an environment? Julian, are you around? :)

Anyway, I can't see a way to make a cross-platform client (except for Java) without bloating the program with GUI compatibility code which nobody wants.
