[JDEV] jabber TODO list

Looking over the release announcement for 1.4, and the TODO list included,
I'm wondering if the poll() changes are planned for a 1.4.x release instead
of a 2.0 release, or if the 2.0 release might be sooner than anticipated
by the release announcement of 1.4.

Is anyone currently working on switching to using poll() at this point, or
is it something I could work on to get it into a 1.4 point release?
