[JDEV] Piercing firewalls to contact jabber servers

Hi all,

    Does anybody knows a trick to let packets destinated to jabber server pass or bypass a firewall so that a communication client-jabber server can be made?

I know there's a transport on jabber that could do this(tunneling on port 80) but the project seems to be dead. Is there any alternatives or solutions?
