[JDEV] palm connection

I have tried to use a desktop connection to jabber as well as a palm client to jabber. The palm client is the one found on jabber.com. Strange thing is that I can create a new user with the palm client and it can always log in using the palm, but I cannot get it to log in using the desktop client. The reverse is also true (create on desktop -> cannot log in using Palm). Anyone know the reason for this?
