[JDEV] Problems w/Jabber on PPC Linux...

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.  I performed a quick 
scan of the mailing list archives and didn't notice it...

I'm trying to run Jabberd on an Apple G4 Titanium, running YellowDog Linux 
2.0 (I've also tried this with LinuxPPC 2000 Q4 and had the same problem).

Jabberd compiles without any trouble.  However when I actually run it, I see 
the following messages:

20010702T18:32:24: [alert] (-internal): io_select unable to listen on 5222 
[(null)]
20010702T18:32:24: [alert] (-internal): io_select unable to listen on 5269 
[(null)]

Jabberd continues to run, but doesn't actually answer on either of the ports.

Any thoughts?  There's nothing running on those ports...  I've tried running 
it as root - same problem.  I've also tried alternative ports, but I keep 
getting the same message.
