Ya. Newbie again. Hate it when that happens.
I'm looking for info to get me started. I sent my first mail to the list
two days ago, but doesn't look like it worked cause it didn't pitch up in
my digest. I'm now on normal mode and I'll try again.
I need to know where to begin. I have to design a decently sized software
system which uses Jabber as it's main messaging platform.
Although I envisage us building slightly lower level customisations in the
future, we will initially just be making all our software modules work as
clients. All our communication will just be embedded within normal jabber
messages.
My knowledge of XML streams at the moment is minimal. To make things worse,
were working in C++ after 2+ years of PHP - so I'm rusty.
Now my main question: XML streams
I look through the php jabberlib, and see that you can just open a socket to
server:port/something.xml?param1=xxx¶m2=yyy
This surprised me. When I download the server libs, I don't see any of the
.xml files that the lib actually references. I check the jpg and the
parameter names passed do not actually seem to conform with the names in
the xml spec.
Can someone explain what this is ?
Thanks.
