[JDEV] ICQ transport sending messages in groupchat format by default

I've just been informed that the version of ICQ transport running on the
jabber.org server has messages tagged as groupchat by default by a friend.
The main question I have, is why?
Some people, including some that I have managed to convert to jabber, prefer
the standard message format. I realise that there are features better suited
to the groupchat format, but I'd prefer it to be up to me who decides
whether to redirect them or not.
