ooh, I can answe this one, one good example of this is somethign that happen
to me with icq, I had it at work and at home, the problem is, if I forgot
and left it on at work I couldn't access the network at home. (I didn't have
vnc installed at the time so I couldn't just log on remotely and shut it
down. Fortunately for me I knew that that machine happened to be a piece of
crap with the orgional version of 95 and no security patches repaired so I
just winnuked the machine till it crashed and then ran icq.)

OK, I think I get the picture now.  One thing that
does puzzle me a little is why, in general, a single
user would want to be logged in simultaneously on
multiple connections.  Any particular applications for
this capability?
