[JDEV] Jabber compiles but dies on adns

Hello,
I have been attempting to install Jabber on RedHat 6.2 for several days now.  I can successfully ./configure and make each package, including adns and pth, but when I attempt to start the server (jserver &) several seconds pass and I get the following error : jserver: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/local/lib/libetherx.so.1: undefined symbol: adns_init
I am baffled.  I've searched the mailing list archives, and while adns seems to have been a problem for others, this particular error hasn't been addressed. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated
