I don't see any advantage to the development effort, unless IMunified
wants to adopt jabber as their platform and/or contribute material
resources to jabber.org.  It is extremely unlikely that jabber has escaped
their attention.

Hey, wait a minute!  Jabber is an open project, so there's nothing to stop
a 3rd party from approaching IMunified.  Does IMunified have a forum or
something where you could make inquiries?
