What about speakfreely integration? Itsd free and open source, perhaps an
arrangement with the author to combine forces? www.speakfreely.org

Roger Wilco has an excellent system that I personally believe is better than
Yahoo and it's free. It uses some codec that's about 16kps.
I still think we should support some kind of packet/binary interface
(streaming if you will)...it could really strengthen Jabber.
