[JDEV] Buddy Lists as a communications hub

We are strong proponents of open standards (therefore our work on h.323,
G.lite, etc).  We have yet to sort out how to work within an open software
approach but it is certainly being analyzed. There is a group here
interested
in the presence/instant messaging space but I do not know their current
stance
regarding Jabber.  If it results in universal access/usage of presence/IM,
it
can be nothing but good.

Jim,
    If you are at intel, and you are obviously interested in this kind of
technology ... what does intel think about jabber?  Are they planning on
making any
kind of contributions to the project?  You might want to mention to those
guys that
contributing to freedom software is just about the best way to obtain good
PR now
adays.
