While on the issue, I believe the Jargon file says it is accepted 
commonwealth hackish to append periods after quotes (quotes being a 
container for the text and a period signifying the ending for sentance, 
it doesn't make as much sense to put the period within the quote (nested 
parens are also logical) ;).
