Now seems I'm finding what I need... seems maybe I need to look at using private XML storage: <a href="http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0049.html">http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0049.html</a> Although xml "storage" gives me the impression that it just storing -- but I think it means sending and receiving as well.
