vitor, I had tried this quite a few servers the prominent bieng <b>ejabberd. </b>I have also tried this with many <i><b>open XMPP IM systems </b></i>which include j<i><b><a href="http://abber.org">abber.org</a> ,<a href="http://movsoftware.com">movsoftware.com</a></b></i> , evn <i><b>GTalk</b></i> and our own internal IM at my organization. I also did have a bug similar to the one mentioned here but that was not because of the server , it was due to my Client calling deny somewhere in the program which i handled later. It works fine now.<br>

Have you retrieved your roster, also? If so, look at the subscription<br>
attribute on items. If not, you might start getting notifications<br>
when you do.<br>
