Hi all,

I am not able to start up the Jabber chatbot... Can anyone please help me out by providing suggestions or ideas where I am going wrong or can anyone give me a sort of instructions so that I can have the chatbot start up successfully....(I am a student, who wants to add a feature to the chatbot as part of the course project...)

The details of what I had installed are as follows:

Net::Jabber ver. 1.27 , XML::Stream ver. 1.16 and since when i tried to start up the chatbot it gave me the error as:

Can't locate the Chatbot/Eliza.pm in @Inc(.....) .So, I installed the Chatbot::Eliza ver. 0.97 perl module from cpan. Now, after this, when I started up the chatbot by saying "perl chatbot", it just hangs and does nothing...

I had also been following DJ's article at: http://www.openp2p.com/pub/a/p2p/2002/01/11/jabber_bots.html inorder to start up the chatbot..

I have my jabber server running at 138.47.102.47(boxamd.coes.latech.edu). The only changes that I made to config.xml is putting the ip address of my sever as follows:

<server>138.47.102.47</server>

and changes in the channels.xml file as:

<channels>

<server>conference.boxamd.coes.Latech.edu</server>
<resource>chef</resource>

<server>conference.boxamd.coes.Latech.edu</server>
<resource>frank</resource>

</channels>

Now, after making the above changes when I run the chatbot, it doesn't do anything...It hangs up...

But in the record log of jabber server, I can see the corresponding entry as:

Also, I had followed the instructions given in one of the previous jadmin archives at:

mailman.jabber.org/pipermail/ jadmin/2001-July/001790.html

But, I had the same problem when I followed that...(Also, Mr.Kevin Kadow had suggested to rename the eliza.pl to eliza.off. I didn't understand if I should change the various instances at which eliza.pl is present in the code elsewhere...)

Can anyone please suggest me the various points at which I might be going wrong...

Thanking u all in anticipation,
