Hi guys,

I've had the similar problem on our Solaris 2.6. The server doesn't seem to listen on the default port 5222 when I try to use client to talk to it from Windows. Here is what type to start the server: etherxd, and I get this message: 'Fri Jan 21 10:24:49 2000 warn/etherxd server started'. I also tried to run it with the debug option i.e. 'etherxd -D', and get a core dump with following messages:

Fri Jan 21 10:26:33 2000 debug/config:34 Loaded config /home/lei/local/etc/etherx.xml.
Fri Jan 21 10:26:33 2000 debug/jlib:56 jlib_init
Fri Jan 21 10:26:33 2000 debug/manager:76 manager_init()
Segmentation Fault (core dumped)

Anybody help me please!

Thanks,

Quoting Anup Chopra <anup@mahindrabt.com>:
> We have installed the Jabber server.
> But after installation, now it is not listening to the specified port or =
> other port.
> What should we do now?

Well, for one, more data. ;-P

During the installation of etherxd and jserver, entires are *NOT* made into
inetd.conf, as it doesn't function that way, nor is it started. If it IS
started, and not listening, then a peek at your xml config files would provide
more data regarding the configuration that the install decided to use..
