[jdev] North American XMPP Summit -- Any takers?

Folks,

Your friendly XSF Board has been wondering whether we should put on a
Summit in North America this year.

Our candidate location this year is Portland, Maine, in early October, to
coincide with (or run alongside) Monktoberfest 2014.

We'd really like to begin to get an idea of numbers, in order to decide on
finalizing the event.

No commitment is needed at this time, just a note to express interest.

The Summits are generally technical events, somewhat like the
standards at xmpp.org list in full-flow, except sitting around a table instead
of hammering away at keyboards. We're blessed with a great community of
people, and I'd personally encourage people to come along "for the vibe" if
you can spare the time.

If you're interested in coming, please either reply to this note, or - even
better - join the summit at xmpp.org list and post there.

If this goes ahead, volunteers to help organize would be extremely welcome
(most of the Board is EU based this year).
