That is already taken care of since a few months. What's still lacking
is contribution or at least participation and feedback from the Smack
userbase. Smack 4.0.0 release candidates are published for testing
purposes since six weeks, still the feedback is minimal. Of course
this could either mean that I made a good job or that most users don't
bother testing. I hope it's the further, but I feel like it's the latter.

Smack and aSmack are with version 4.0 in sync. Which means that both
benefit from contributions. We are happy about contributors of every
skill level. Simply join #smack (freenode) or contact me if you are
interested.
