Hi Bhavi,
  It's great to hear you're thinking about working on Swift for the
summer. For introductory documentation for Swift, and even some simple
tasks you could try to break into the codebase, have you had a look at
http://swift.im/gsoc.html ?

For a quick introduction to XMPP, you could consider flipping through
