Hi,
As you can see, people Russian Federation, Czech Republic and Ukraine use
Jabber/XMPP widely.
As a resident of Russia, I can confirm that many large projects started own
IM servers based on XMPP (for example: yandex.ru, qip.ru/rbc.ru,
vkontakte.ru/vk.com etc). Users just using that services and even don't know
about protocol they based. So, XMPP is not more a modern untested technology
but it is a stable base and a standard for many applications and services.
