[jdev] Anyway of Sending Msg to Jabber Server?

Dear all,

I wish to send a simple message to an account holder on a jabber
server. Just a phrase that is it. I tried it in Java and it was easy to
implement with smack. But I have to work with c/c++ because my project's
code is in C/c++. Could someone please direct me to a simple way of
sending a simple message to a jabber server? Any libraries that can help
me with it. 

I am using MS WIN XP for now. I have tried gloox but it does not
compile in MSVisual Studio 2008 or eclipse. (how do you switch on rtti
includes in vs 2008?) I have tried libstrophe but have as of yet been
unable to get it to compile. Scons is not working (it was not even
installing earlier). 

So any help regarding this would be great otherwise I will have to work
with the java/c++ thing. thanks!
