Personally, i wouldn't implement JEP-8. Having to upload your avatar  
to every one of your contacts doesn't really scale well with bigger  
contact lists, and is a high burden on a client. The plus of 153 is  
that clients without an avatar protocol (but with good vcard support)  
can still make use of the avatars published by JEP-153.
