I've been looking into OTR as the basis for a better approach to
encryption over Jabber. Right now, OTR encrypts only the character 
data of the message <body/> element. That's great for interop with
other IM systems, but it's rather limiting for more complete XMPP
coverage. Perhaps it would make sense to negotiate which mode you
want to use -- message bodies only or full stanza encryption.
Realistically, I know that many IM users don't care about full
stanza encryption, but I also know that full stanza encryption might
be valuable for other uses of XMPP.
