Hi,
2005 seems to be the year of VoIP and many traditional Telecoms (I can
speak for Portugal and Europe) are rushing and deploying VoIP solutions
as fast as they can.
An XMPP/VoIP/Videotelephony integration JEP would be most welcome and
usefull to avoid proprietary implementations and lack of
interoperability between future clients.
I antecipate that such JEP can be very complicated, specially when
dealing with "redundant" protocols like seems to be the case (ie:
SIMPLE vs XMPP for presence, SIP/TINS/SDP vs XMPP for message
signaling, and the transport of the media codecs as well).
If anyone is willing to start such an effort let me know, we might be
able to help to real situations and real products for XMPP/SIP :)
Celso.
